About Us

Most recently serving as Vice President of Development & Production at Akatsuki Entertainment and Ammo Entertainment, Kat McPhee has worked for a wildly diverse group of bosses including James Cameron, Norman Lear, Kat Von D, and Bobcat Goldthwait. 

Beginning in 2015, Kat worked for her friend and colleague, Annmarie Sairrino. Together they identified countless properties for development from Japanese IP, identified new and emerging talents in the fields of writing and directing, commissioned treatments and scripts, and took two features from conception to filming and post-production.  In 2022, they released horror film, Room 203, and dramatic thriller Root Letter, which was awarded the ReFrame Stamp of Distinction for Gender-Balanced Productions. 

Kat launched her production company, Second Rodeo Media, in 2022 and has a slate of genre projects in active development including Faerie Tale and Shallow End with writer/director Noah Dorsey and the feature adaptation of Japanese video game developer Uri’s The Hanged Man with producing partner Ammo Entertainment. 

Places you may have seen Kat: grainy security footage on FoxNews (a long story), The Price is Right (an even longer story,) and covered in blood on a Japanese movie poster (no story needed.) In her spare time, she waits impatiently for the Cinerama Dome to reopen.
